The aim of this section of the module POR 1 is to facilitate the student’s artistic autonomy in methodological processes and the consolidation of an artistic identity. • Develop somatic and emotional body-mind approaches to performance practice
  • Increase awareness of the poetic universe of the performer
  • Develop the singular nature of each opera singer during live performance and during collective interaction.

The main purpose of this module is to consolidate the performer skills, giving a particular focus to the work on stage in the interaction with the director and the maestro. Issues of scenic presence in relation with the scene/stage will also be explored. Our teachers and coaches have a long experience in the tuition of international students, as in our Vocal studies Faculty more than 50% of singers are from all the continents. Being in Firenze (Dante’s home town) allows you to absorb the good “reference” Italian diction directly from the people you will meet in the street, as the Florentine language is the basis of the modern Italian language.

Additionally, a production on stage with full scenes and costumes (with piano and small chamber group accompaniment) of DONIZETTI’s L’elisir d’amore at Teatro Niccolini (Firenze), at the end of March 2024, with the participation of the EOA students as either soloist or choir (singers).
