Conservatorio di Musica Arrigo Boito in Parma, Institute of high culture, is a pivotal centre dedicated to providing the highest artistic training, education, specialization, research and production in music. It also defines, creates and continually updates its didactic offer to develop specialized, high-level professionals operating in the artistic-musical field. Field is intended in the broadest sense both culturally and didactically, which encompasses models and values of the tradition as well as perspectives and applications of the present time, favouring the constant adaptation of its formative offer and in the search for the evolution of expressive languages. It has been granted legal status with regulatory, artistic, didactic, organizational, administrative, and financial autonomy. The Conservatory, in pursuing its own institutional ends and with respect to its constitutional principles, ensures, fosters, and promotes freedom of instruction, study and research; it guarantees equal opportunities of access to staff and students, without prejudices with respect to ethnic background, religious creed, political convictions and gender; it contributes, through didactic results and the publicity derived, research, and a free exchange of ideas, to the cultural, artistic and scientific development of the national and international community; it is pro-active so that its productions may have widespread diffusion and accessibility on the territory, independently or in conjunction with other public or private entities having similar and compatible cultural purposes; through a constant monitoring of the forms and modalities of artistic and musical production, also on an international scale, it adapts its own formative offer so that it is in tune with society’s requirements and with the evolution of highly specialized professional profiles which will be met with concrete opportunities upon entering the job market; it safeguards contemporary cultural pluralities in the awareness of its own historical roots; it establishes general criteria to ensure the efficient use of resources destined to didactic and formative activities and to research and production; it guarantees the transparency of its operation, and grants to all who operate within the participation to their relative organizations and the right to access information; it evaluates and values the effectiveness and efficiency of its didactic, formative research and production, and managerial activities provided and to this end it activates documentation and monitoring services; it encourages an open dialogue and fosters discussion on its institutional purposes, receiving also external contributions on a local, national and international scale; it favours relationships with public and private institutions, cultural realities and productive forces, in so far as their being instruments of diffusion, valorization and promotion of formative action and research; enriches and divulges its bibliographical and museological, audiovisual, instrumental, and multimedia asset/patrimony; it recognizes unions and guilds that facilitate integration and the interaction between the various members of the Institution.
